Something to aMaze (or at least entertain)

All around the sleepy town of Stawford lies rich farmland. The area near the foothills is especially fertile. Well, was especially fertile. First the Sundering, and now frequent earthquakes have left the region in disarray. At the dead center of the chaos is the Therayle farmstead.

The farm, which has been in the family for generations, was the best producing in the region. It now faces ruin. Hugh Therayle, the current owner, is at wit's end trying to restablish even a modicum of control over the disrupted land. Recently, farm laborers have gone missing, swallowed by sinkholes suddenly opening in the unstable land.

However, when Hugh saw the ancient doorway jutting up from the middle of the field where his corn used to be, he knew that this wasn't the type of problem a plow could solve.

The next adventure from Broken Knives The Maze Beneath the Maize will further lay the groundwork of the Aberrant Ancient lore, and should be similiar in length (or a bit longer) to The Boatman's Dog adventure that we released in March for GM's day.

The Stone Bridge

Today we are releasing another map from our upcoming adventure for DMs Guild. To avoid spoiling the story of the adventure, I'm just going to include a little lore about the bridge.

Broken Stone Bridge

Before the Broken Stone Bridge was built, this was the site of the only river crossing for 15-20 miles. The current here is unpredictable, lulling one minute and rapid the next. Thus, the rocky river bed resulted in enough accidents to earn it the title "Broken Bone".

As the nearby settlement of Stawford began to prosper, the dangerous crossing became a serious impediment to commerce. After lost shipments and hobbled horses, the town rallied together to build a permanent crossing on the site. The townsfolk constructed an arch bridge quarried from local stone and named the bridge in honor of the former crossing.
